A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a most romantic poem
gestation
then devastation
love erupts
then explodes
corrupts
then erodes

I feel a wise choice here with title "romantic" and not "love" poem. Even in love the romance most often follows the arc you have laid out. But love can have a different hopefully better transit, I think. Nice read. -carl

Thank you, carl. I have been to the bad part of that arc...The transit fairly bumpy.

Reads like every bout of love that comes along. From beginning gladness to unfulfilling sadness. So much said in do few words.

Good one j.

Romantic Rendezvous can be in Venice or in your Dreams… a thousand Arabian Nights… until the Sky becomes thunder and the wonder sinks into the Sea…. Sadly, Pat

Brevity which captures every failed relationship, from inception to death:) Fortunately, they don’t always end in such misery. Great word choice and imagery of the explosive blast.

So that is why love is like a rose. Nothing so beautiful when fresh, nothing so sad as when time has taken its toll.

such a poetic reply, John.
thanks,

This is fantastic, my friend. In my opinion, with these words you have marked the trajectory of almost every love affair. Every love seems to have such a universal kind of fate. Loved it.
