A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Definition

the epitome

of love for poets

passion extended

expended

ended

in some words

a sonnet

a blue bonnet

with a bow for a title

then the poet sits idle

until driven to the word once again

by a glance

a chance

embrace

the face

                  of another poem.

A fitting poem for Valentines.
Lovers are driven by passion, affection, infatuation, completeness, so they tend to make a move or sit idly by.
I love it!

I like it ! Too many times just hearing a turn of a phrase on TV has me grabbing a pen, inspired to write. ~Jim

You have spelled it out magnificently, spot on, and straight to the heart of it. I love reading your writings. You are so creative and wonderfully perceptive. I am already looking forward to your next one. (I haven’t been on here much lately and want to catch up.) take care!

It’s always good to read and see you my friend. :-)
Oh yes, love lies between the lines of the next poem. All tied up with a pretty ribbon, isn't it? In reality romance is much more "iffy". Still, love is the ink in our pens when we write. Good one, Jacob. Lydi**

such clever insight, Lydi.
thank you for that.

A single word or sometimes a phrase. I embrace those moments. I love those moments when I am inspired and can turn my thoughts into a poem. Working on the presentation, adding a ribbon to my bouquet, publishing. Then hoping another will come soon. Dear j, that is where my thoughts drifted to with your words here. You birthed a poem. Another baby :)

Thank you for your kind review, Chris,

It is fascinating how poets can bind a whole chain of thoughts into some words of metaphor. It wouldn't be unfair to say " bind the whole world of theirs"

thank you, Marve,

Poems are time’s language left to the elements, once written replaced by another, always moving, changing, a continuous line that never reaches the end as long as the thoughts feed it.
