the Path

the Path

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the Path

two poems walk hand in haiku

by lake of lyrics

swirling syllables gently caress

the soft dew between their bare toes

nature nurtures noble virtue

verily they stroll semantically

whispering words that breeze

across the calm

hearts accord

according to the setting sun

and the poems clasp accordingly

lovers write into each other's heart

they become a sonnet

a longer variation than three lines

always a beginning

and then rhyme times them into gifted gentleness

sweet scent of metaphor

smiling into an embrace

a third poem joins

then a fourth a fifth and so on

is Modern American poetry

a village

a quaint quatrain

or a quiet riot

wryly spoken

in roses

that petrify

before they bloom.

Dead before they started. Poems or relationships or maybe both. I think I’d aim for a sonnet rather than a three liner. A bit more substance. Somehow I get the feeling here, that the journey doesn’t always go to plan. You can end up with something else. That’s where I drifted dear j. Beautifully penned and brimful of imagery.

we write and write and write with honest intent and wishes for a solid wedding but alas ... on a linear line it's age that is forever the winner ... we dust off such well worn themes and renew them with our own flavors ... can't help but think when it may all petrify .. unmoldable and .......... too old :( then I listen to Paul McCartney's https://youtu.be/ap87QgZKTNw?si=nCZQcgxDaOCyNlrS ;)
