Tying life together with a rhyming couplet

Tying life together with a rhyming couplet

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Tying life together with a rhyming couplet

splash about in your own tears

and self-pity

you will only drown

in figurative waters

the literal ones may

harbor the ill will

for only so long

then you tire of yourself

dry your bogus eyes

and live on with your own lies.

The towel of pity will dry no one here. A good write of advice for anyone. Self pity and looking for from others is never useful to them or others. Great write Jacob

I think that is true....thanks Soren,
j.
This seems like a harsh truth but self-pity is tiring after a time. Those who indulge in it are often lying to themselves and they're not fooling anyone, least of all, themselves. This is a powerful poem, my friend.

It sure does get tiring...I appreciate your insight.

Is this advice or blame, jacob? Methinks it will depend on where people stand on the content, how the words are interpreted. The liar manipulates, truth might might have been manipulated - who knows. As ever, you offer words and set the air alight!

'dry your bogus eyes
and live on with your own lies.'
