An intimidating Arecaceae

An intimidating Arecaceae

A Poem by fattycbreezy52

They stand tall and high,
And intimidate every inch of her,
The way he used to.
She wants to hit them hard,
And mock their prodigious growth.
Yet,their beauty fills her with an awe,
The way she would glorify him.
They are strong and stubborn,
In the face of a tentative sea
Which may bring forth Tsunamis,
At any point of time.
But she?
She is already weak against the waves of time.

Thanks for the lovely review dear,Sereena:)
the intimidation of those trees which remind her of past love... he has gone but those trees remain, tall... she wants to strike them because they serve to haunt her memories... i see an older woman, whose heart and soul has already been weather-beaten by time and no longer concerned about the storms of life she knows so well... a gorgeous write with perfect accompanying art...

lol I meant beautiful** but you're welcome hun
Stunning metaphor in this one! The trees withstand it all and yet we, as humans, bend too easily at times. Wonderful work. Lydi**

Thanks for an insightful review, dearest ma'am.I am glad:)
i loved it, the way you compared the two different thoughts, trees and memories of that guy, i didnt find the girl weak here, i found it more like the writer is getting stronger n she is ready to face them, unlike her past past she is not running away rather walking through those fears. nice one :)

Another sad piece with such profundity in its echoes and voice as you describe how she is affected and sees the similarity in her feelings towards nature as she did to a past love. Another joy to read piece. Your command of English reminds me of my son's writing.
