this is so tough...i had a friend years ago who got raped...she would never report it...just lived with it afterwards...and i know it always haunts her...but sometimes trying to prosecute the one who did it puts the victim through more pain, guilt and scrutiny that she does not deserve.

in ways, the bad guy wins not matter what.

So true jacob, on the survivor site I'm on, you would not believe what the 'victims' are put through, the perpetrator has more rights...many times these rapes go unreported due to these horror stories. Thanks for the read...

Highly strong statement here you cut the veins of our society when evil acts such as this happens everyday to our women, children, and sometimes even men and it goes unnoticed. leaving the victims scared and ashamed of telling someone. Taking away the innocence of a child, and taking the purity, the beautiful essence, and the pleasure amongst other things of mutual intercourse violently and forcefully anyone who the hell are they to take whats not theirs. I can go on and on and on about this for this something I hate to hear about happening to anyone so I will leave here and as always fellow writer keep writing

The twins of human destruction are apathy and ignorance. The social attitude of, "Well, it didn't happen to me" or the ignorance of courts that dared suggest that a woman invited rape by her choice of clothing. We live in primitive times where men with more stength than dignity impose themselves upon the weak and vulnerable at alarming rates. The entire scenario of rape is a series of conflicting emotions forced upon the victim who is traumatized by the event, subsequent court appearances and an apathetic society for the rest of their lives. Well done, and forgive my rant.

Yeah the worst part about our society is that instead of bringing to light the people that committed the rape in the first place and really questioning and and figuring out the basis for rape and why people rape in the first place we often blame the victim and somehow make it their fault

For me as a man I have never understood what possesses anyone to want to rape or to force themselves or to take that from someone. No matter who it is that is perpetrating the rape I always wondered what is it that drives people. For me I could never imagine forcibly taking that from anyone but maybe its a good thing I don't understand.

I don't know either, but no answer would justify doing that to another person, I don't care if your mommy didn't love you or wtf happened to you, you don't violate another human being in that way. That poor girl in India, not only did they violate her, they tore out her insides, what kind of animal does that....

Last week I think, she lasted about 6 days, it's all over the internet.

Poor girl. I know the recent one I heard about was that there was this girl that was found dead and basically was so drunk that she asphyxiated on her own vomit but I guess what happened was that her friend felt bad enough about it after and basically told the police that he had brought her up to the attic with a couple of their other friends and basically took turns raping her as she lay defenseless and drunk and they left her up there not knowing that she would end up drowing in her own puke

What kind of friend would do that. I would never in a million years think to do that to one of my girl friends. If anything I would protect them from anyone else doing something like that to them instead of being the one to do it and letting other guys take turns to while she is passed out and can't do anything about it.

Thank you quinn, that's the whole point, to get people fired up about it....too many people have attitudes that suck, like 'good old boys' just doing what boys will do, I've heard it all on the survivor site I'm on, not to mention the countless people that look the other way or don't want to get 'involved', it turns my stomach.

we just need more Xena warrior princesses out there to kick a*s....i adore and revere women....most men would do well to show some humility when addressing a female...they are, in fact , superior....i have never seen a man yet who could carry a fetus to full term while balancing a family and a job and other kids...all why still taking care of her "man"....

It seriously pisses me off that Girls my age are violated, forever emotionally scarred and no one does a damn thing. There are girls terrified to speak out because they aren't sure if it will even help. I cant fathom the pain and horror those young girls, and women alike, go through.
