Ill Padre

Ill Padre

A Poem by Frieda P

Everybody knows,
 no one speaks
silence is golden and deadly
you won't live forever

your amoebas' keep chomping at my brain
you've successfully stigmatized my prosperity
your silent sword
has yielded me mute

You'll be gone and I'll live on
coasting along simmering in this shadow
amidst your past
 unforgivable transgressions

Absolution will utterly never be granted

unless you find it in another dimension
if for some inescapable,
irrational reasoning,
you repent
 unspeakable truths,
should penance
forgive your trespasses

IF they shall open the gates of paradise to you

I'd gladly burn in

hell for eternity

An interesting blend of religion, truth and condemnation. Unfortunate, but somehow understandable that you would condemn the innocent to the fires of Hell in the afterlife too. I guess after being licked by flames for so long, you get used to the heat of the kitchen.

ha I'm not good at tact in these situations! ;-)
I seem to have missed this one...obviously it packs quite the punch, and from an interpretive standpoint, it reinforced the notion for me that death is a scary thing no matter how much sugar you coat it with...to quote Jim Morrison, the future's uncertain and the end is always near...

The write wasn't so hot either, thanks Ahmad.
Nice bite to this one. Aren't we all damned in one way or another? Love the art work too. Everyone has a demon or two to fight, everyone has a sin or two to answer... Such is life. Nice writing - thoroughly enjoyed!

There's no absolution for some transgressions...
that leave only a burning legacy of eternal hate...in all dimensions

Frieda, a very powerful poem from you. I can feel ominous black clouds rumbling under the silence. 100/100
