Kaleidoscope Hues

Kaleidoscope Hues

A Poem by Frieda P

What color is your poetry
does it start out perky pink,
             then turn murky blue
do you tap out the hue by hand
sing song a rhyme
are you coloring in the lines
         thinking outside the box
  the spectrum is so intense
       scribbles in pen,
  babbling in watercolors
strokes of genius
 in oils finest
each one a special
          tinted sneak peek
all the worlds a canvas
           for our point of view

Love this - reminds me of my poem Inking Art. Writing allows us to express every aspect of ourselves - the personal, philosophical, bizarre, the what ifs, the what haves, the future, fantasy and every other possible topic. You posed the question - each of us answers it slightly differently - in our own voice and hue. Nice penning there, girl!

Mine is rainbow coloured I think....What a lovely way to describe poetry, and you are right...Blue, black, pink and as golden as the corn; all poetry has a colour

I guess you answered your own question Baby...
We are all painters of words. Our pictures vary but we try our best to describe the scenes as best we can. Some show a unique perspective while others just quickly sketch ideas.

This of course is well written. Your canvas is alway filled with something interesting in any color. Nice one.

Well said Relic, I've done both techniques I guess....thanks so much.
We are all artists, whether we be Picasso's or street artists, but are writing and are style is uniquely our own. Nice message, great piece!!

I'm in a constant state of buildup then I shut down and explode, then it's all better for awhile :)
This has a touch of class to it.
I think the beauty of writing is you aren't wrong with any words you use, because they are uniquely yours. Some share a beauty or truth that often leaves me in awe. Yours often have that type of influence.

My poetry is mostly darkish green and blue and purple too. But sometimes it's much brighter -- even neon hues! I never thought about it before reading your creative and wonderful bright poem! Thanks! --david
