Weekend State of Mind

Weekend State of Mind

A Poem by Frieda P
"

..thanks Eros for the inspiring pic xo

"
I'm in a weekend
          state of mind
have no concept of time
          or space
just know it's going to be
    an easy pace
like waves rolling on the surf
flowing towards nothing
 but  a retreat
easy breezy thinking,
              and repeat
dip my toes in slowly,
feel the breeze on my face
              chilled drink
and a soft comfy chair so sumblime
would you care to dance me
                             in the sand
who knows,
together perhaps
             a castle we can build
                         to touch the sky

The poem starts with "I'm in a weekend" giving the sensation of limited time, yet freedom of no other type. then the poem speaks of things that are done in the easy pace, the weekend pace. all slow .

The poem includes numerous sensual situations : "easy pace" reminds heart pace , "like waves..flowing towards nothing" , "easy breezy", " chilled drink " ..

and to top it, you add a partner to the crime "together perhaps" build a castle of sand that reaches the sky . a fun task I may say, one that can burn all the weekend . Leading me to the understanding that weekends are meant to be spend with others while doing fun stuff.

Thank you for sharing such an extraordinary poem.

So nice to hear that Becky, thanks so much.
Deep sigh.. that's what the weekend is for. And there you are strolling on the sandy beach with nothing on your mind but putting one foot in front of the other. Enjoy every throbbing inch of your weekend. ;)

Have a very happy weekend indeed. You're deserving. :)
Nice pace and feel, just as a weekend described within the lines. I don't know what these mythical easy going weekends are that you speak of - but they sound divine! Nicely penned!

Oh, I will post a few pics from NOLA soon. It was fun. Opened my eyes a bit, too. Eventually the trip will inspire some writing. Busy week and I'm headed to NY to pick up the man cub early in the morning for spring break. Breathe... One day I will get to chill - just like in your poem! ;)

Are you mocking me? LOL, this is more than relatable, Frieda. This is tailored fit. Okay, I'm gonna go back to my paperwork and dream of a better place.
