~The Last Time I Danced

~The Last Time I Danced

A Poem by Frieda P

Last time I saw your face I danced in your essence
the tempo deliberate and hauntingly alluring
you provided the rhythm for my wanton heart
your Grandioso sent me over the moon,
            then crashing back to earth
I felt it'd be our last tango,
          yet, you expressed devotion
I fell into your staccato without missing a beat
till I realized you'd always be a cappella
with no reason or rhyme for your deceptive cadence
there'd be no encore, you were falsetto in disguise
Now, I dance alone on a dark moon with no harmony
no Maestro to entice an impromptu interlude
sad violin music the only melody that tunes my soul
still, a free spin above the kick of devils symphony

Thanks so much Shivam :-)
"I felt it'd be our last tango,

yet, you expressed devotion

I fell into your staccato without missing a beat"
Your words dance with the beats of life gained and then lost to him being out of tune with your heart for he chose the cadences of harmony to go after vain and trivial melodies . But your symphony keeps in tune with life and love...Splendid...:)

Thanks Leslie, you're always so kind....
This read like a beautiful profound dream and your last line produced images of a ballerina
gracefully dancing a pas seul...to the beautiful music...Rose:)

Thanks Cassie, sometimes it's best to dance alone, glad you enjoyed.
The dance floor it is crowded, there are many smiling faces
The band it plays Roberta Flack, the dancers move their paces
Yet over in the corner, there is beauty that I see
With sadness all across her face, I think how can this be
I make my way throughout the crowd, my mind is on romance
She smiles as I take her hand and ask her for this dance

Very nice Frieda, You take us with you on this night of music and fun and allow us to see how it doesn't always end up like we planned...or does it. I guess the music will dictate the night.
