~Long Pauses~

~Long Pauses~

A Poem by Frieda P

You haunt my dreams
in long pauses of nightfall

a single breath at the nape of my neck
the scent of magnolias in the air

a calm filled with shudders
gasp of a sigh uttered

scorched of long ago places
written in script

that aspire to dusty shelves
one sweet day to revisit

in visions of twilight,
amber cognac
& blossomed desire

you give such a deep look at your passion! It's almost like memories jumping into the air. ...landing as small kisses trailing down the senses.Long pauses to let us know we are still breathing.I almost want to close the curtains as I read this for it makes me feel naked. you have done your job well here Frieda! Superb!

One thousand thoughts transfer between the long pause and are said between eyes of two lovers. You have captured some of those here.

I would love to be able to write like this Frieda. Its other-worldly and is more like a whisper than a shout.

I like the sensual feel of this one from the beginning to end with the touches upon skin, the shuddering, the blossoming and tasting of cognac. All dreamy qualities that afford long pauses, whether they come to you in memory like something taken from the shelf of experience or, whether a desire is being met by scorching delight, you've captured it all with your pen.

You're welcome mon chou.
The smell of magnolias is intoxicating. Smell is such a powerful sense for memory. You are able to create such tantalizing beauty with so few words.

Glad you were able to capture that feeling too Sirrah, thanks so much.
This was marvelous, Frieda. It was so emotional, sensual, delicate and sweet - yet passionate, powerful and vivid. You represent love as it should truly be. Some people today identify love with just plain, raw sex, when it really isn't just that. It's really amazing to see such a passionate poem with such wonderful taste put in it. Excellent job! :)
