~Poetry Bazaar~

~Poetry Bazaar~

A Poem by Frieda P

Welcome, one and all~
 takefont row seat
our poetry circus will begin
we have jugglers of similies
a tight rope act of sonnets
court jester'd hyperbole tunes
alliterations of crazy clowns cursing
dactyls of fluttering butterflies
hip hop be bop meter and rhyme
stanzas of personifications abound
our theme is a villanelle of understatement
our subplot a spondee of Knick Knacks
where syntax, whose words these are I think I know
quatrains and couplets together in rhythm & time,
ironic symbolism is our first act
a nature of haikus will follow
ending with the Senryu finale...

Please enjoy the show
take a load off and relax
from your point of view

Oh Frieda, this did make me smile. There seem to be many poems around about writing poetry, but they are all so different and yours is a feast for the mind. I love that it's a circus, a metaphor for all the different styles of poetry(as you mentioned) and ways of expressing feelings.
What acrobatics we perform when writing. Your poem is such a lighthearted view of the process.
Wonderfully penned!

I enjoy the poem. I'm a Gypsy in spirit. I like those wild and free carnivals and bazaar. Nice flow of words took the reader to good places. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Thanks Coyote, just having a little bit of fun...
Don't forget: The daring young man on the free-verse trapeze, he writes on the air with the greatest of ease.

I always knew this place was a circus. Very much fun my sweet friend.
