~Swim in You~

~Swim in You~

A Poem by Frieda P

I fell for you like amber raindrops
burnished by the sun's satiation,
golden in my heart you will remain
our love story as sinister storm clouds,
turning sapphire skies to bleak trickles
sank in drowning pools of our own undoing
baubles of lust dissipated on the horizon
yet I still swim in you on dismal days...

Frieda - Now we can agree with the font and theme here in the lines...I miss reading all of you guys as of late...the music like YB I just read...gives to this verse...Good to read your work…Thanks for the invite to read your thoughts to paper at Writers Café...I'm back to work with copy writer and doing my best to write 1000 words a day...and a subject you do not get to choose...will be busy the next few months...so I will read all RR"s might just take a bit longer to get a review...hope you understand...plus promote my book: The Onyx - Vena Amoris...for late next month release…I have very little time on my hands…making the most of everyday and taking today to read as many as I can…keep writing and sharing your creative talent here and elsewhere…

Thanks so much Sunshine, you too hon x
I particularly like how you don't outright claim that you're drowning in nostalgia, since I sense a small part of you enjoys it as some sort of guilty pleasure. Swimming, to confide yourself int he moment of relaxation... well done.

"Our love story as sinister storm clouds
Turning sapphire skies to bleak trickles."

This is probably one of the most beautiful lines I have ever read.
There is that kind of love that is passionate and it takes your entire being, making you feel dead and alive at the same time. It consumes you and eats away at your soul entirely. It destroys you and breaks you mentally, and yet you keep coming back to it. I've lived there already, and it's not a happy life. I'm glad I'm out of it. Still, this is one excellent piece of poetry, Frieda, great job!

Thanks so much LSD, and yes that's the kind....!
still I swim in you on dismal days. there is this hope in that line - and in the light you mention the colors. Gold....
A beautiful poem - sad in places but with hope.

Thanks Tam.
Love can throw us about... But sometimes we find we are better in the storms than without them at all. Enjoyed the dark edge to this poem!
