Twist'd Dragon Fire~

Twist'd Dragon Fire~

A Poem by Frieda P

Dragons breathe fire
    within gray matter
igniting an apocalyptica
     of monstrosity's magnitude
drenching beads of sweat'd contrition
       in contaminated danger's rush
radioactive particles fall
    'tween red paint'd eye squints
dulling senses of time's credibility
woke up in a catacomb'd tomb
breadth'd expanse within rust's
       contaminated bone fragments
eradicated sensibilities acquired taste
    ash dusting over determined intentions
machinations within human's refinery
twisted queer by burnt orange clockworks
destined to live and die in systematic
                       abstruse calculations

Such a deep write Frieda, ooooft! I adore this song, it is one of my favourites of all time. You have me singing and jazzing away to it, aha.

Flip flops & all that jazz! xo

Haha Nope, no influence here Mrs.R ;P I could be blind and still recognize your poetry. I knew I was in for a treat when I read the title, which intrigued me right off the hop. I read this as a struggle between one's good side and bad side, between the left and the right of the mind. But not only does this piece demand multiple readings, it demands multiple interpretations. I thought the burnt orange clockworks was quite witty as well. Love this one :) xo

Haha Yep ;)
What I see when I read this is a transparent machine, gears and sprockets fitted together perfectly, moving in syncopated rhythms, poetic hydraulic fluids flowing at a smooth pace. I can hear the hum of the movements as they purr so melodically as I read this. Now, I am not trying to say this is mechanical in any way, it’s just each line works so seamlessly and without effort to produce the end result. A poetic machine. So very cool and wonderful is this poem today.

“radioactive particles fall

What can I say, that was out of this world good.

Frieda, my sweet friend, you prove me wrong everyday as I sit here and think she can not possibly outdo herself.
