Twist'd Dragon Fire~

Twist'd Dragon Fire~

A Poem by Frieda P

Dragons breathe fire
    within gray matter
igniting an apocalyptica
     of monstrosity's magnitude
drenching beads of sweat'd contrition
       in contaminated danger's rush
radioactive particles fall
    'tween red paint'd eye squints
dulling senses of time's credibility
woke up in a catacomb'd tomb
breadth'd expanse within rust's
       contaminated bone fragments
eradicated sensibilities acquired taste
    ash dusting over determined intentions
machinations within human's refinery
twisted queer by burnt orange clockworks
destined to live and die in systematic
                       abstruse calculations

Such a deep write Frieda, ooooft! I adore this song, it is one of my favourites of all time. You have me singing and jazzing away to it, aha.

Flip flops & all that jazz! xo

Countless battles are fought and won or lost, innumerable apocalypses faced and survived inside it and the remarkable thing is that it dusts itself and still goes on...

A very deep and thinking poem for me.

Jack said it all again. However, breadth'd confused me - I was thinking it was breath'd, but not entirely sure ...

Was thinking along the lines of dimensions, hey I just write em, I can't always splain them Lucy....
Hmmm..the title may refer to dragons but im feeling something very industrial here. The world and everything in it as machines...lots of smoke and loud noise. The grinding of a million gears at one time. A place where things are functionary but without emotion and human connection. I don't know maybe its my frazzled mind doing that all on its own...lol!! But I do like it...a lot!! x

Wow, what did you eat before writing this one? I want some! You dove into complex and refined waters here... even your use of language, while staying true to your signature flair, was all too refreshing! I officially have a poetry crush on this piece! ;)

Spinning a web of words that trap the reader in your cornucopia of splintered concepts..

Grazie mille Poppy, love 'woven and bursting'! xox
Burning thoughts that overwhelm one and drain the energy, the life force. They twist and explode inside your head but no matter how we try we can't solve the puzzle. The feeling in this is of being persecuted by thoughts and not knowing how to end or understand what they mean. At least it made me think!
