~ endless breath of silence

~ endless breath of silence

A Poem by Frieda P

A moment in bittersweet crystal clarity

memories of glory days gone by

         familiarity of scent and touch

indulgences of passionate nectar'd skies,

wildflower meadows and body quiver sighs

translucent reminisces of love's twists & tangles

sacred promises torn awry in duplicity's grasp

under a darkly full moon's daunting disclosure

rendered in sounds of hopeless tear soaked passages

forgotten love notes written of inky illusions

neatly wrapped in tissue paper delusions

stormy weather's threats upon spirit's token of mourning

a final endless breath of silence as it's put to rest ~

death's conclusion does not become the tender heart

Death does not become the tender heart; a profound and heartfelt ending to the nostalgia that had built up previous to that line's deliverance that seems to reassure everyone that we do not become death when we die . . . Our actions, memories, experiences will always be shared amongst those who had shared them with us, and we become our moments instead of just death.

Lovely ending, it was truly thought-provoking.

"Rendered in sounds of hopeless tear passages" .. that line touched my heart. Silence is a girl's loudest cry.... and you have used the appropiate words to evoke the pain caused by death of hopes and shattering of promises.. ;) One of my favourites of yours Freida.

Woo, thanks so much Sophy, doing the happy dance. :)
great closing line .. it could be the death of many different things .. not necessarily a person .. that open universality is the quality i love in this .. nice one Freida!

especially appreciate this line:
"wildflower meadows and body quiver sighs" .. so sensual and romantic .. two are one with the tremors of the earth .. love it!

It was my pleasure, Frieda. :-) x
Oh my... ma'am.... ok... composing myself... you always write so eloquently, so graceful, so delicate--Yet it holds so much power... It never fails to HIT me right where you intend... Whether I am holding my sides laughing, wiggling in my seat tingling, holding my heart sighing, (you get the point)--you always deliver what you intend and then some...

*on a side note* Song.. while lyrics may enhance the piece... I think it detracts from your beautiful work of art.. personally don't care for that song.. but hey--my opinion.. Love the font idea, maybe just a little bigger--but I get the "visual lines" you were trying to do here as well, so I dunno...

Awesome work as usual.. ((hugs))

there is a certain conclusion in death...but only for the one who has died. Those left behind never find that complete closure, that last sentence with the period...there are just elipses...

and life continues without them.

yes, "now there's only love in the dark, nothing i can do, a total eclipse of the heart"

deeply moving poem.

Best compliment a poet can hope for, thanks so much Brittany!
I'll admit the font made this very hard to read, but otherwise it read great, there were no awkward pauses, so if flowed fluently. The picture beneath is beautiful and the song beneath fit nicely, even though personally I hate that song—they play it repeatedly on one of the radio stations I listen to. You have a very eloquent style and I enjoyed the read, thank you.

I started reading this three times but had to stop...between the song and poem it hit far to close to home. Like you took the words from my very heart. But I finally pushed through and then had a good cry. Amazing hun...xo
