A Poem by Frieda P

another LC inspiration

"
Here is my blithe spirit's call,
here is my polar darkness's soul
the poetry of my heart's embrace
drenched in sweet red cherry wine
drunken for all times sake's intention
        painted of life's ambivalent detentions
               and nectar'd rhythm's redemption
crosses to bear of death's barren hillside
        veiled in exquisite ecstasy's blood
silent tears unwritten of battle's freedom
wings shorn in early light's kingdom
colored within rosebuds & thorns
       my obsession's hinted sublimity
night's shade and sun's task'd surmise
rising and stilling the hours divine
                                        'everyone lives and everyone dies'
reason and rhyme will  endlessly survive
            in each 'hello and goodbye'....

Frieda,

Is this new? I love it! For me it conjures visions of cyclic emotions and images--dark/light, hello/goodbye,
, and, of course, rosebuds and thorns. I think I related in some of the review comments for my little poem, "Staccato," that I've a very close friend who suffers from ultra-rapid cycling bipolar disorder--an extreme high and low each and every week. His life is bittersweet, but beautiful in it's own way. This poem reminds me of his battles--always saying hello and goodbye to the precious dawn and dusk times where he is mostly free for a brief time. Well, that may not have anything to do with your intentions for this little gem, but it has moved me nonetheless. Great work!

The opening was perfect, classic, I seriously can't pick out just one line, they are so beautiful flowing and they glow! I think this is my new favorite by you. Absolute perfection.

Life is a coin, heads or tails, each day we flip the coin never knowing how it will land. This was more sad than not to me. There is a lot of sadness in your poetry it seems but it is very enjoyable.

I really liked the imagery Freida.. rose is muse for a writer but the entirely different way you have portrayed it is heart rendering, the rose and thorns, the night and the sun.. Everything is transient and cyclic. The only thing consistent is change itself
"wings shorn in early light's kingdom" .. gave a touh of divine glory.. :) Nice write.. AGAIN

Oh yes...
THAT guy. :)
"you say goodbye, and i say hello...hello goodbye hello goodbye"

one is born another dies....and life goes on with and without.
it's the reason and rhyme of the scheme of things...and some of us while we do live, we live for poetry...
it is both our rose and our thorn.

just these last three lines are so poetic, that I could say them over and over again and the amazement of the words they contain would never fade out.

FP --- the restrictiveness in the rhyme goes here --- does not hinder...as with rhyme that tends to happen...yet I was not in this read...the usage of words and placement puts a reader in touch with this verse...the music accompaniment adds a bit...too...its always a good thing to read twice and get the sense of what the writer is pursuing...
