read 'tween the lines

A Poem by Frieda P

Take each sentiment,
     twist at your own discretion
  a cathartic inquisition
   can grasp timely translations,
bend them aptly to suit your
           own disaster's rhyme
  turns on a dime in
           perspectives's intuition,
  everybody knows the
     ideas are simply overstated
       and liberally conjugated
   words read surreptitiously
          'tween the paraphrased lines
  aimless paths amidst seaweed petals
                  & wildflower drifts
   where horizons breathe to expand,
& rush meets lush tranquility's rhythm

“The appearance of things changes according to the emotions; and thus we see magic and beauty in them, while the magic and beauty are really in ourselves.”    Khalil Gibran

ah ha, a philosophical poem from you Frieda... And music too, "I got nothing left to prove... to you" "a wildflower"...

I liked the feel of these words as I read them, they were like a "daisy in as field of roses" (from the song), or "wildflower drifts" (your words, which I found nicely "conjugated" by the way)... even in poetry, metaphor and image, there is reality, and it is either true or not, someone has twisted the meaning and intent of your words... hopefully I have not done this with this poem Frieda, missed the point...

you don't have to read between the lines to know that "wildflowers (and their drift)" are beautiful because they are "wild"... anyway, you know sometimes I go all over the place as I read your poetry Frieda...

Very clever & original-sounding turns of phrase, oh-so-true for this website, as we each read another's words to be something right out of our life experiences! Sometimes using a bunch of million-dollar words can give writing a stilted feeling, but your message still sounds friendly, despite literary references aplenty. I also enjoy the unexpected rhymes & graceful nature descriptions.

The line structure in this is fantastic; through it you elegantly capture the crux of your piece, as the pauses and breaks meet the dialogue harmoniously. When I get a chance to write, and review, I make a point of reading your work Frieda.

I hope you are well

im never quite sure how to react to your writing right away miss frieda. it always takes me a few hours to mellow out your words and patterns and get past how free versey it is to really grasp your concept and meaning but man are they beautiful and they remind me that this place is my home and i belong here with beautiful writers like you. wonderful work as always. kisses.

This poem feeds into my recent wonderings about the reality of the world having read an article musing if we aren't all part of a supercomputer simulation. If everyone sees soemthing different (through the individual minds prism) then just WHAT is reality? right ... no more coffe tonite methinks...
Great writing Frieda as per...

Ever felt so peaceful reading a poem?
It's how this feels. It flows easily. And despite the fact that a feeling so strong like love can be destructive sometimes (Or most of them) it is a magic we all desire.
Loved it

We really do see things the way we want to don't we? This can be a magical thing, but it can also be incredibly damaging as well, depending on the context. I think it is those that truly try to read between the lines that are the most empathetic to what people are saying. Things are not always as they seem. Loved this Frieda!
