Red Pine Trail

Red Pine Trail

A Chapter by Ethan Paz
"

When creepy hates you.

"

Red Pine Trail

This night might just be

                                  Creepy

Is the calling of fate.

And it

                                   Hates

As two lonely feet rumble down deep on such a mountainous forestry steep

Because as they lost their way,

     Separation

         Desperation

               Frustration

Soon took place

In that furious forest where fighting forever happens.

Where branches thrust their woody thorns in sensitive skin

Where leaves cry with crackling laughter that leaves no word ere to be heard.

Maybe a storm or five passed by, but when I finally saw some lights

You weren’t nearby.

And

                                   You

Were lost. Lost. Lost.

Weren’t you following me?

“Fast as the light,” you said and racing down the forestry mount we did.

Weren’t we trekking on such a trail?

I’d dare guess we’d be holding hands still on this ground.

As spring approaches again

He visits the land where they once did part.

As spring now became bitterly cold,

He gazes at the forestry mountain from his bedside window.
