Music to my ears

Music to my ears

A Poem by Lale

I'm trapped in a long-forgotten song that was once played at the central park
I see faceless people jamming while the starry sky smiles from above my head is spinning
I can no longer survive
this twisted feeling of longing and thrivingness
"..." "..." "...are you going to Scarbor..."

Nice memories! S. & G. are right up there with the Everly Brothers as the greatest vocal duo of all time. I love their music, and Paul Simon is a great songwriter (although he didn't write Scarborough Fair). Timeless music!

It is indeed. Thank you for the precious information. (:
Wonderful memory you have here Lale. A favourite song from Simon and Garfunkel. A lovely piece of free verse which transported me back in time. Ain't nostalgia grand :) Oh I was so young then.

I love them for always making me feel young...
"...ough Fair -- parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme." 🎶

No harmony's quite like Simon & Garfunkel's … it lends a haunting touch, as does the smooth-flowing rhythm of your poignantly rendered words.
So intricately penned, Dear Lale … who says there's no beauty in sadness?

Love your title, and the ultra-creative word, "thrivingness". 😏
Wonderfully done Free Verse piece … thank you for sharing! ⁓ Richard🖌

Thank you
I love S&G. their music is so inspiring.
they are my favorites....saw them November 8, 1969 at SIU...
their CD LIve in 1969 has five songs from our concert.
they were jaw droppingly awesome that night.
Love this poem...Not only because of the reference to S&G, but also the reference to a place I visited quite a bit as a kid in NY...Central Park...
You touched my soul with this one.
