Step Relations

My step dad and I are getting closer slowly

After longing love and many hardships

You came into my life

So young, only 5 years old

Hate not being the word

But instead despise

Feeling you loved the two more then me

Was something I couldn't comprehend

What did I do wrong

Growing up I distanced myself

To feel safe in my mind

I envied the two

Feeling they were loved more and they knew

As I get older I am realizing

That feeling is dying

I know you love me

But have trouble showing it

It understandable

With my age and all

You have always been here to catch me when I fall

And I know I don't show it either

But I love you

And appreciate all you do

We both have things to work on

But hopefully we can drop the past

And move on
