The Making Of An Angel

The Making Of An Angel

A Poem by trainwreck

I should be scared,

And I should be scarred,

I should be nursing a breaking heart,

But I can't seem to care.

All I can do is love you,

Grasp for hands holding mine,

And hold my pain inside,

So I can find my way through.

Maybe I'm drowning,

I don't need to swim anymore,

There's a Rock nearby,

And then, suddenly...

I can see.
I swear I've never seen your face,

Dear God, I've been to this place,

This is my first time being free.

I can stand again,

And I am beauty,

But better than my wings,

I just met my best friend.

I love the last stanza, very good...you maintained the modest style writing yet this poem already beaten some of the poems I had read when it comes to angel...

This was a very heartfelt tribute. You had some very strong images in this with a nice, heartwarming ending. Good write.
