A letter to Nikki Blue

A letter to Nikki Blue

A Poem by Crowley

A Letter to Nikki Blue

I had these thoughts about you last night
About jump the river, those long legs
About the other boy’s, jealous name calling
About your name, on my tongue
I had these thoughts about you

I had these thoughts about you on Saturday
About that wet hair, those curls
About lyrics written for us
About eating sandwiches, grape Kool Aid moustaches
I had these thoughts about you

I wanted to let you know the impact
About perfect eyes and skin like Colorado sunshine
About the smell of barbecues and first loves
About tight chested longing, lost in adolescent chatter
I wanted to let you know

I had these thoughts about you

It's a beautiful letter for longing love.. but did you ever send it? I think not. Sometimes the best ones are the one we keep to ourselves.

such a common experience expressed in a very fine manner. "About tight chested longing, lost in adolescent chatter" been there and done that. the heart says, go, and the mouth just starts spiting out random nonsense. Nice piece of work. -carl

Crowley,
There is always that longing for missed love, especially when it involves long legs, wet hair, and perfect eyes. All my adolescent loves are just like her... it is the stuff from which poets are made.

The title is worth the price of admission- sounds like Dylan in his prime. Another fine piece.

My, she had an impact on you. All these years later and she's not just a passing thought, she visited for days:)

You know, I can't remember much about any of my early fancies, apart from the one who died. He is worth more than a thought. Yes, he lingers.

Enjoyed the visit Crowley.

Thanks Pat! Mostly words have their way with me!!!
well now crowley an interesting read, and if were to put my Mr Freud hat on? hmmm

all I can say is, if Ms Nikki Blue is a long lost adolescent flame, that's one long burning ember. then again skin like Colorado sunshine probably would have kept in my mind a long while too, so who am I to judge

thanks for the read
