We all experience what it is you're describing here. I have felt it so often in my life. And I recall specifically feeling it at your age. I felt so alone and scared that no one understood what I was feeling. But take comfort in knowing that we all do, but folks don't run around screaming it from the rooftops bc we're so afraid of admitting our vulnerabilites. We're afraid that it makes us too different and that others can't relate. I find writing about it trememdously helpful and its such a good idea to surround yourself in a community of people who are willing to share their hurt, pain and loneliness with you. I hope you continue to share your thoughts with us. Thank you.
We all wish to find that person who is meant for us, who is our other half. But it all takes patience and the best person will come along without you even knowing it. We all wish to not be lonely, but we all sometimes get that feeling. We can't help feeling lonely at times, but it at least helps us figure out who we are in the long run.
I enjoyed your poem, it flows nicely. I suspect that the flaw lies within our society itself, there are so many lost ones in our culture. We all need meaning and love in our lives, don't stop searching for it and don't be afraid to look beyond our culture for answers...you poem made me think.
Yes, formatting is very important to poetry. The other thing I had to learn is that of meter... this means a particular rhythm to the rhyming words. It is more difficult to do than correctly formatting your poem. Here is your poem in a more flowing meter. I hope you are not offended that I took the liberty. Others did the same for me when I was learning how to improve my poems.
I am so lost and just want to be found.
I feel like a lonely, unloved hound.
I know there's someone out there for me.
I'm wearing my lock, who has my key?
I'm sick and tired of the lonesome wait.
Where's a fast forward button to show my fate?
I walk around seeing other girls and guys
Together with smiles and love in their eyes.
I long for the same. I long for it badly.
I can't seem to find what I long for, sadly.
I will keep searching for who will be mine.
The one meant to finish my beautiful rhyme.
I am very proud of you for the waiting you are doing! I didn't wait when I was in high school and settled for anyone. Your waiting will pay off. Now that I am in college I am feeling the same thing and realizing that persevering when everyone else seems to be finding their someone seems to be worth the giving up. And yet it seems more beneficial later on in life to wait and just let things happen, at least that's what I've been told. Now for the writing itself, it is aesthetic and very honest. Thank you for being so open with us here! Maybe if you slightly changed the wording of the 3rd to last and 2nd to last lines into one: "But I can't seem to find the one who will be mine." Just a mere suggestion, you are, however, the author :D
I would suggest putting this in poetry format, as follows.
I am so lost and just want to be found.
I feel like a lonely, scared and unloved hound.
I know that there's someone out there for me.
I'm wearing my lock, now who has my key?
I'm so sick and tired of the lonesome wait.
Why cant there be a fast forward button on fate?
I walk around and see the girls and guys.
Together with The smiles on their faces and the love in their eyes.
I long for that again so very badly.
But i can't seem to find the one, sadly.
I will keep searching for the one who is mine.
The one for me that is meant to finish my beautiful rhyme.
Your poem is really good, you just need to format it as a poem, so that it's easier to read it like one.
Beautiful! Your words ring true inside my heart... sometimes I sit and watch couples and wonder and wonder... thankyou for encapsulating what so many of us are feeling :)
Don't rush love. Need to be the right person. Heart can't take too much pain. I like the poem. Good emotion and desires in the poem. Thank you for a a excellent poem.
