A Poem by hiraethstill
"

i laughed today, after what felt like ages

"
it feels strange
to be startled into a laugh
and then realize
that you can’t remember the last time
something similar happened
when was the last time
i felt the gurgle of amusement
bubble up through my throat
like the crash of waves on the sand
like the playful dapple of sunlight through leaves
like an old friend?
when was the last time
the all-pervasive apathy
cracked
like lightning against the clouds
like rocks disturbing the rapid rush of a river
like the thrilling thrum of my heart as i talked to her?
i don’t have an answer
but that laugh gave me the hope
to try and find it

An old soul, and probably the biggest dork you'll ever meet. Helping people and doing my best to make them feel accepted and cared for is why I was put on this earth. If I can do something for someone.. more..
