The Seed

The Seed

A Poem by KATHY SUE SILLS
"

A seed of love planted in someone's heart, starts to grow.

"

A seed of love planted in the depth of my heart.

I prayed,

I hoped

it would flourish and grow.

The feeling it gave me was fuzzy and warm.

Emotions I've never imagined crowded my being,

overwhelming me with tears and joy.

I never wanted the seed to get tangled in weeds and die.

I wanted to feel the delicate seed grow,

and push through the surface of my heart.

I explored,

I matured,

I waited,

until my heart blossomed with love and so much more.

Wonderful poem. Your words are wise and mature.
We never want love to be smothered by weeds.
Nice job.

This poen talks to me about the relentless desire and drive to obtain the elusive true love. If it exists at alI! The words in this poem show me that the probability is that true love can never reach the potency of the desire for it. So then these ernest longing words portend the failure and the vulnerability when searching for the elusive, illusory concept of love. I like this work and am able to understand more the pain that shatters when love fails or flounders.

This really is fantastic, I could read several meanings of love in this, from the beginning of life to a relationship that matures and becomes romantic. Over all, a very enjoyable and very well written poem.

I think "crowed" should be "crowded." And I think "natured" should be "matured" - then it would make more sense. I think this is what you meant to say. :)

Love is not something that is based upon something else someone does or does not do; it is in and of itself - self-sustaining on its own. It exists apart from us as well as within us, if only we will strive to allow it to grow.
