Ghost

Ghost

A Poem by MCS

I search the eyes in the old mirror

hoping for a glimpse of who I was

need hangs over me like worry

the image looking back at me is of a ghost

trapped in tarnished silver walls of time past

the very walls that hold me today

can I walk through these walls

no, not at all

Somber Truth resonates in this haunting silhouetted poem. Noir, evocative imagery-"I search the eyes in the old mirror...hoping for a glimpse of who I was"...stark and so relatable. Time and events unalterably change us, for better or worse, deplete and imprison us, if we let them, "can I walk through these walls? Can we not? Can we help each other through the walls? Can we not? Sad and Beautiful..

Wow very dark. The imagery is very fluid and vivid. Beautifully eerie piece. I would love to see more.
