Go

Go

A Poem by Joshua Lobdell
"

I wrote this poem after a terrible fight with the woman I should have married. In my head it took nearly 2 years to get over her, but reality tell me that now 12 years later maybe I never got over her

"

Remember all the fun we had

Even when it felt so bad

You and I, a warm embrace

Now we both try to save face

Never admitting why we were wrong

Crying, listening to our song

How did we get so far?

From simple flirting at the bar

Giving love a fateful chance

All along our sweet romance

I see a red flag, we stopped

Deep inside my heart dropped

And I couldn't figure out why

I let you in, to see me cry

For you I made my play

I don't know why, I cannot say

A premonition I saw

A future with you tried to draw

Got caught up in your pink

Along the way smeared the ink

And no we are no more

I scream out, "you filthy w***e!"

That's what my broken heart keeps saying

But in secret I've been praying

That we would have another go

I still love you, don't you know?
