Lobster

Lobster

A Poem by john l smith
"

the great escape

"

Warm is the weather

Although early in spring

So off to the beach

For a pleasant afternoon fling

Looking forward to that picnic pie taste

When a large lobster ran by on the fly

Showing exceptional eight-legged haste

A sight that put apple pie in my eye

First, there was one

And then there were three

And then how many more

All headin out to deep sea

They had escaped from the restaurant

Just cross the street

With the chef in hot pursuit

Who was now facing a lobster defeat

One passing lobster slowed to a walk

To say there’d be a menu change

Which the chef would have to re-arrange

I was quite surprised to hear a lobster talk

I like the rhyme and flow of this poem and of course the humour. I've never seen a live lobster but I imagine it must be an incredible sight.

Lobster tastes pretty good alla time
worth a try if you get the inclination
Did you notice what kind of runnin' shoes they had on? Acme, perhaps? Crustacean nation, that chef was chasin' those entrees escapin'! "Waiter, I don't think this is lobster in my bisque. It tastes more like anchovies."

they indeed have a sad tail to sell
Hahaha, what an amusing sight, think maybe the crabs had better run too in case they are the substitute delicacy...
