Walk Away

Walk Away

A Poem by Olive Belikov

Your cocky smile plays foolishly with my heart,
knowing not that I am smarter, sharper,
than any of the other dim witted lambs
you have so easily compelled
into your roach infested chambers.
My heart will never cease to know
the sly ways of your devilish kind;
For I have fought too many battles,
danced too many masquerades
with robbers and kings
to not recognize the signs of your trickery.
The way you smile with those sharp teeth,
and how your deceitful blue eyes sparkle
in the ever gleaming darkness that surrounds you.
I have felt the touch of those soft,
seemingly harmless hands,
and know the dagger like claws
hidden beneath the smooth, silky skin.
Claws that so easily tears the flesh from a heart,
bringing unrepairable damage to soft, frail, tissues.
You can not fool me though,
don't even try.
I find you petty, worthless, a beggar of your kind.
So let me be,
leave me alone.
Walk away you foolish child
before you get yourself hurt.

Direct and honest feel in this poem. I like it. Sometime being kind won't work. Need to demand separation and freedom from the problem. A very good ending to a excellent poem.
