Consider the slivers of flame
in the cage and think about it

Stardom waits patiently enough
in the vision of a maid
waiting on a warm poker
like a melting baton
Is submission a gratuity willing to be left
on my night stand for an audience
with a lonely man's cliche of choice?

Why be satisfied with a maid's itinerary
when stardom fidgets all the more
anxiously for a maiden?
All I'd ask on a whim of stipulation
is a donning of a loose white toga
to whitewash the winks of your exposed
tan like a sheer smile of silk

Unless you wish to come
and feed the fidget in the flesh
envy is a fruitless answer to the
wooden documentary I direct
to keep my uniform fetish on ice

A note on the avatar: I didn't find that pic till after I wrote this, but if I'd seen it beforehand, it may very well have inspired this writing anyway.

I'm not sure if this happens anywhere else but in Canada we have this thing called Casual Fridays, when people can go to work wearing casual clothes...cuz it's Friday, I guess...

Expressing yourself in this way is a fabulous change! I've said it before, but you are one of my greatest sources of inspiration, both in literary terms and beyond :) Whether it's your own writing, or your reviews of mine, I always come away from your words feeling better about the day at hand...this two-week stint away from my place has unquestionably unlocked parts of my imagination that I always knew were there but never believed them to have any words...I was definitely breathing fire when I was writing this, and apparently I left enough smoke in my wake to raise the question of what the heck I was thinking in the process haha In the meantime I will continue to look for that happy place with your support in mind, and do it with a smile :)

I can`t help it, Kube - I have the distinct impression it ain`t just casual clothes you`re wearing. This smacks of artistic anarchy to me. My guess - wrong probably- is that this is biting our bums with the bared teeth of barmy metaphors for red herrrings! The whole has it`s own sort of authority, because it could be all things to all men! It sure makes you masticate on possibilities! P.

Oh I'm casual enough, I'm just not thinking casual thoughts haha I always wait with bated breath to see how women respond to the ones that are addressed to female characters, but I really seem to have gotten the guys' attention with this one :P I never claim to speak for large groups of people with my work cuz it feels pretentious, but I suppose there is an Everyman feel to this one in its documentation of the male psyche...still this is very much me, artistically speaking...I didn't intend to do any biting but I do specialize in red herrings haha Thank you for the insights Pete.

Every visitor needs a map and the notes are welcome. But that doesn't stop the random tourist from transmogrifying reality to suit themselves. It's not a statue with pigeon poop on it; it's a work of art. Let the transmogrification begin... from office to rink.

So, again we see... as you've implied before, you don't always keep your eye on the puck while the game is in progress, do you? Sometimes you daydream... those curious little twisted beasties that we've all come to know and love. The ones that make you a U-U (wuz gonna say yo-yo but it sounds like I be rapp'n, dog, ya know?) on a string of up and down merry-go-round cardboard cutout carousel figures. We hear the music of the Calliope and are drawn to the garish primary colors that, at once, both illuminate and silhouette the riders as it diverts attentions and masks the the interior motor; the mind that is you my dear Kahn.

I wonder, if you carve little animals out of soap and use them in the shower, will it imbue one with the characteristics of the carved effigy? ~ Bob, the angry flower.

Haha I'm all about transmogrification...bring on the transmogrification :P I must carry some of the element (unconsciously) to the ice with me cuz guys say they can tell when I'm on the verge of spouting off way before it actually happens...and I played three times this week so there was ample time for beasties to formulate in my head...I haven't started speaking to my soap yet though they may be hope for me yet...thank you for another entertaining review my friend.

I don't see the relevance of casual Friday with the content of the piece. Sorry but I was really thinking hard about the relevance. Unless becasue you wrote it on a Friday and you were not wearing uniform or not wearing something at all, lol. Who knows what was on your mind when your scribbled this down? Okay, well then I guess all men has their own little fantasies just like women do. I think everybody is guilty of it. Different fantasies, some shallow, some deep, some sky high. I think what this piece implies is how someone can completely obtain the real essence of satisfaction whether it's bodily satisfaction, spiritual satisfaction or the satisfaction of inordinate desire to possess fame. There might be humor on this piece which I am unable to determine, sarcasm maybe? I'm not sure. Sensuality? It has been made apparent but not directly implied, maybe intended for another meaning. This piece definitely made me think. And by the way, I am having a casual Friday. Just saying...

I had to save your review for last Maryanne, hope you don't mind...it's a compliment though ;P Being one of my most sympathetic readers and thoughtful reviewers, I often have to stew over your insights for a while before I answer them, much in the same way my writing makes you think ;P

It's hard right now for me to put a context around your thoughts, as I have not gotten a whole lot of female feedback on this one, contrary to my expectations (maybe that's a good thing in this case haha)...I seem to have spoken more to the guys with this one...but sure, we all have our own inner movies that we attend once in a while...and remember I've been away from my place for almost two weeks now so I'm sufficiently shack-wacky and highly susceptible, not only to my movies, but the cinematography and production ;P I don't wanna call it full-blown sarcasm but there is most likely some element of sensuality served with a snarl because I wrote it...I should also mention that I really debated on the word "fetish" at the end...it would either be the cherry on top or the millstone around its neck...I can tell you one thing, I had no idea I was writing such a deep piece until the reviews started coming out ;)

Isn't it amazing how words can bring different thoughts to everyone? Honestly, I was very hesitant on bringing the sexuality issue up because I wasn't really sure. Fourth to sixth lines gave me a hint but I was thinking there is more to it than sexuality alone. Now I realized I was overthinking, lol. When I read Priscilla and Robbie's review, I was astounded as how precise their views were. It might be because they are more inclined (I'm not sure if it is the right word) toward its nature.
