"Please answer
if you can show
me your eyes
behind your mask"
Now that my friend was a brilliant ending. So many times we end up judging others so easily. Assuming that we really know the real person inside, only to find that actually we know nothing about that person. Some people are married for years and still have no clue who that person is that they are married to.
Loved the fact that you brought in those questions in your 3rd stanza, somehow forcing your readers to pause a bit to fully understand the depth of your words and where you are taking this. Questioning one's mortality in such a thought provoking way.
I love this poem. Especially the last stanza. Pleading for the answer. Begging them to show you their hidden secrets when you're trying so hard to understand everything. Excellent poem
The mask that never comes off..... Everyone has tried on many different mask..... But once you take off the masks...... all you have is the real face of your deity..... Bravo love.... take a bow.......
Great ending to a amazing poem. Identity is something we all keep hidden to a certain degree, maybe of fear of getting hurt or being abandoned. However, once that mask is dropped, even if for a moment, the brilliance behind it would stun anyone in its presence. That is, of course, if the wearer took good care of his or her soul. I really liked it. Thanks :)
So many questions, so many answers sought behind the unveiling of the mask. I like this. Brings that age old question to the front "Who are we?" Nicely done!
Beautiful! This actually does speak about every day life. A lot of people hisde behind masks so they can fit in with society or be how society dictates they have to be. Wonderfully written, I loved it!
I love the quwstions in this.. brilliant. everyone should ask this of themselves and every couple...masks are no good indeed. I agree I love how you force the reader to consider their own plight as you render yours..truly interactive and expostulating wisdom~
Beautiful.
I like the way you show how we do not discover who we are because we chose to live as what we are suppose to, not what we want, in the part:
,,Who are we really?
What do we want?
Where are we going?
When are we set?,,
The color is a little improper if you ask me, violet would have worked better.
What you see is what you get with me, I've been writing poetry since I was like 17 years old. Been writing on and off for 11 years now. I'm working on my first book at the moment, hope to finish befor.. more..
