Sister

Dear my darling sister,

you emerged from your

seat, excitement gushing

out of your soul like a

volcano finally erupting

after years of storing

fluid in it's own body,

your light hazel eyes

dynamic, illuminating

like a set of Christmas

lights, you cannot seem

to control your excitement

My dear sister, life is full

of unbelievable excitement,

life has the tendency to lift

your spirit as high as the neighbors

next door, it has the nerve to

make you feel on top of the world

only for it to remove the ladder,

leaving you stumbling over like

a wreckage, having you question

the reason why you hit the ground

so hard without some sort of warning

Sister I tell you this, do not mistake

ones love for eternity, do not grab

a hold of something that is willing

to let go, leaving you empty handed

and with a discharged heart,

leave room for yourself, only love

if they show it first and only love

those who love you harder

My darling little sister, do not

mistake ones love for hands,

do not mistake lips for the truth,

do not relish in ones love, because

it will become of you, it will

soak up your essence, spit out

your independence and turn you

into saw dust gasping for air, air

you already have for yourself

Sister, your love is incredible although,

not everyone is deserving of it, love

is painfully addicting do not become

the victim of ones satisfaction, become

the receiver of ones undying love
