The Other.

The Other.

A Poem by Lilaa

This poem is about being in a relationship you aren't really interested in because you have feelings for someone else but you were too afraid to tell them how you felt.

She will wake up to you one day,
her hands across your body like a fitted
puzzle, her head laid gently across your
chest like clean sheets on a cool June morning,
she will feel at home in your arms. In her mind,
there is no perfect morning like this.
You'll lay next to her wishing her arms were
of another, wishing her peacefully laid head
across your chest is of another, the other you
were too afraid to tell how you felt in fear
of losing your vigorous image.
The other you wish you tasted,
The other you wish you held,
The name you wish you spoke,
Their touch you wish you felt,
but that's gone now, gone just like the other.
Now all you've got is a broken dream and a girl
willing to give you everything.

Author's Note

I haven't written in a while, I stopped for quite some time but I am trying to get back into the swing of things. Sorry if this one was a little weird, I just wrote what was in my head lol. :)

Oh my what a complicated feeling. I can't imagine being in this predicament. Never will would I want to be with someone but prefer to be with another. But I just loved how you made me picture it so vividly, and it's a very enthralling way of writing indeed. I applaud this poem. Well done! :)
