Falling into Insanity

Falling into Insanity

A Poem by Linear
"

Work it out

"
Early one morning as the sun was rising
I found myself sitting behind this coloured girl
on a bus heading down town
when I realised I didn't understand a word she said
or any of those around

So I cut on out of there, oh yeah I cut on out of there

Looking at my plasma screen
of symbols jumbled words and numbers too
I couldn't understand a thing I saw
( you getting this)

So I cut on out of there. oh yeah I cut right out of there

A white collar, with neon tie and face so red
spoke to me in angry tones
but I couldn't understand a word he said
( you with me now)

So I cut on out of there, oh yeah cut right out of there

Swarming like fleas on an underground
fat bellies with vacant eyes
all those children falling down
I couldn't understand a single thing

So I ran right out of there

Now I cant understand one word that comes from you
why dont you understand?

The speaker in this is all of a sudden seeing the world with new eyes and no one else sees it. This poem is liked being dropped in a new and unfamilar world...I liked it. Good write!

Wow this was very creative. I felt like the layers of insanity were piling on more and more as the poem kept reading, and the confusion is really portrayed nicely. Great write.

I got use to the insanity. Today I just function and hope to get home safely. I know the feeling of this poem. Few people know how to talk. We are running like mice in a maze. I like the ending to the excellent poem.

Wow! This is one outstanding poem you wrote! Love the whole meaning, I want to scream when people don't understand me, and they look at me as if I'm speaking a different language!

I can understand this write. It plays through my mind as someone who has
allhymers. I like this, thought you expressed the felings well.

Love this one! It had a very mysterious feel to it. There was a lot more beneath the surface in this poem!
I like how your repeated that line about running out!
Were you talking about a nightmare? A foreign place?
Open to different interpretations, keep on writing!!

Wow, that was a hell of a picture! I need a drink after seeing that picture. What a nightmare losing you sanity is. It is scary to think that no one in the world understands you. Really scary.

I think i do understand - but ironic to wonder why you can't understand while no-one understands you. Beautiful poem - extraordinarily vivid and with fantastically expressed emotion.
