Dumpster Rose

Dumpster Rose

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"

Toxic concrete

Desperation's jungle

Wrapped around throats

Full of cracks

And broken things

Hopeless and s**t

 however

So every so often

Up comes a rose

Perfectly grown

 perfect

Among chaos

Despite cracks

The broken things

Those desperate minds

And toxic hard things

   survival

Suffering

   to survive

And up came this rose

Perfect among chaos

Beautiful in any venue

 in any language

Perfect and exposed

Admired but left alone

   respected beauty

Because old friend....

Every so often

When it's hope

That every so often

Grows where it shouldn't

It breeds more

  inside

It shows beauty

And a message

   that says

Every so often

Anything is possible

That everything can be beautiful

Even all that is ugly

Can become all that was ugly

So we can be beautiful

     objectively

     together

Knowing no shame

Fearless and finding...

Happening

Hopefully

     upon the lost of us

To find the best in us

Sometimes against all odd a beautiful ray of light shines bright amongst all the trials and trauma surrounding the individual and despite all the odds it flourishes grows and becomes something truly amazing in this life giving hope to those who may have lost it along the way

In a world full of cracks, mud, anger and sadness, there is always that one rare rose, red with passion, soft like a teddy bear, fragrant like ... well a rose! It just takes longer and requires patience to wait for these rare things because their beauty is the reward in a dark time. Thanks for sharing... 6 years later!

I can feel the raw emotion throught the words. The symbolism of the rose and its beauty among all that surrounds it, is beautifully penned.
Brilliant work David!

Your words dial down a crisp view of those broken by life and choices that seem to spoil the surroundings. Only to find a seed growing. Yielding hope to those willing to see.

A beautiful poem. It seems that no matter how screwed up things can be, there is always the possibility of the rose breaking through it all. A song, a promise of hope beyond the despair.

Take care - Dave

A sinful Angel with tattered wings and a black halo. Thorns and vines around your heart with chaos get tangled.

I know the chaos all to well for my age. I loved this.

I told you you'd be back. But it's an interesting read even if I don't believe there are any people like that in the world.

Thank you rj. I'm probably not what you think I am. Too bad it's too late.
