You and me

You and me

A Poem by Louisa Chan

Distill something

It’s still something

Forgo something

Something revolts

You and me has always worked

You and me has never worked

They say love is real

One can deeply feel

I say love is almost real

Your love I scarcely feel

Encouraged by friends

A bold decision I made

Now left all alone

Grows my hesitation again

I like how this was crafted and I could feel the message in this. It is pretty much a one door closes, another door opens feeling to it and that is how it is. Often, a bit of encouragement from friends, kind of a little push will help us make our decisions. Is it a good decision, only time will tell but it sounds to me like it was.
Anyway, I really like this poem. Thank you for sharing

yes, I can buy that....love is "almost real"---that "almost" gets really close sometimes.

I enjoyed the read, my friend. I believe the greatest truth of love resides in self; not the selfish desire of having what we want but the satisfaction and gratitude of wanting what we have and loving our own life. It cannot come from or depend on the whims of others. It can't be invested in one lump sum into a hopeful human piggy bank we pray will never get broken. We all get broken...some time or other. But if we keep it in our souls...in our hearts and the deepest parts of our human dignity, like a secret that we dare not share; if we treasure it like the breath of life itself and nurture it like an infant born of our own will, we may have a chance in this world to survive. I'm not saying that's a "easy" thing. It's hard to believe in yourself when everyone around you is telling you you're wrong but it's even harder to give up on yourself and things you truly believe. Love is that way to me. I believe in it because I know it, not because it's some stranger to my heart. Love defines me whether I can define "it" or not. Bless, F.
