Moral Compass

Moral Compass

A Poem by Indra's Child

You are an orphan of no terrain
You've never had what they call guidance
To be led by someone through the rain
On a landslide, you've been left to dance
Mind of sleeplessness and alcohol
My soul; the grounds for the war on hate
Through snow and sand and never a fall
To be fair? This failure navigates...
Boring is faith, a broken fragment
Untrusting chaos , you crave order
Your contradiction; being stagnant
Trust in your heart, you're not a soldier
I can see you there, reach for your hand-
Although I know you'll never notice
You give me drive, and purpose to stand
But I'm struggling, you don't know it
Your approval; not attainable
I'll excel in grasping at thin air
My need is not understandable;
For you, my past? You can't look back there
I can only hope that someday
You might accept me on your level
I can only hope that in some way,
You will appreciate this rebel
