Pressure Me

Pressure Me

A Chapter by Indra's Child

Bridge:
G       E           C   D
Some days I'm on it,
Some days I'm on it
Some days I'm on it-
xxxxxxxx  D-C            C    G
Other days I sit there and pretend
G                          B5                      C                       D              G
Today was the last day of the beginning of the end
G                     B5             C   D                       G
I take some pink poison to cure and to vent
G                       B5                  C             D         G
The strange feelings set free in fire and scars
G                    E               C                               C
Feelings of pressure, impending death not far

-Bridge-
Chorus:
G       E                       C               D
You can have your dog in a cage,
D              G                  E               C                D
You can drink your wine and derange
G              E                       C                     D       G
You can have all you ever wanted, and more-
G                  E                   C                  D
As long as you don't complain
G                      B5           C                D
My mind was held together by belief
D          G                                 B5                          C        D
Words cut, a switchblade brought deeper relief
G                B5                C                           D                G
But tomorrow is the first day of the start of my life
G                 B5                 C                           D            G
I'll trash the pills, but always keep the knife
-Bridge-
-Chorus-
G                 B5                 C                      D                   G
Wearing a smile made of Zoloft, my honorary badge
G                  B5                         C                              D                             G
Signed my soul away to the wolves, gave up the mind I had
G                                B5        C          D                                     G
Your enemy, my secret place, plastique's made it my void
G                B5         C      D
Give me graffiti, paint SSRI's
DxxxxxxxxxxxxxG-F5-E
on walls of white noise
-Msc Break-
G                 E                              C                 D
Choices can kill when you give up control
G               B5            C               D
Painfully evident trauma patrol

-Bridge-

I dig it. It's written in a way that holds the attention throughout. Usually I'm not on board with clinical depression type poems. Too many professionally depressed people write about that exclusively. Pretty sure it's not genuine half the time.

You just don't see the acronym for selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors in a poem too often.

Don't mix cocaine with any type of ssri.... just don't do it. It'll make your brain go unpleasantly numb for like 2 months afterwards.
