What do you see?

What do you see?

A Poem by Drowning with Stars

When you look at me
What do you see?
Do you see the same girl you loved 2 years ago?
Do you see a fallback that you turn to when you feel low?
Do you see someone who never gave up on you?
Do you see an naive girl who refuses to see the truth?
Do you see your first love?
Do you see a girl you can't get rid of?
Do you see a friend, and maybe a little more?
Do you see anything worth fighting for?
Do you see a pathetic girl hanging on?
Do you see someone who was always there for you when everyone else was gone?
Do you see a game, let's see how many rounds she'll play?
Do you see someone you think of at the end of each day?
Do you see someone you never want to lose?
Do you see someone you'll settle for, but wouldn't choose?
Do you see the love of your life?
Or do you see a girl who will give you what you want without any strife?

When I look at you
Why is it so hard to see what's true?

Ponderful questions, deep write. Nicely done!

I love how you ended with that question, it really makes it all questionable. I like how it had both the good and the bad aspects of the person, but they were in questions so it was all to choose.

Very well written poem with deep meaning, sorrow, heartbreak, broken hope. I liked the analogy with the game, great job!

Loved it.
I love writing those kinda repetitive poems like you wrote.
They really hit deep. :')

About
What I love about poetry is that it's completely personal. Not only to the writer, but the same poem also means something a little different to every single reader, the same way a song is different to.. more..
