On a Star

On a Star

A Poem by Drowning with Stars

Reality is overrated.
I live on a star,

Where we dance all the time
Barefoot and clothed in long feathers of light

There is no dull, only extraordinary

Life on this star is an endless symphony

Everchanging from lullaby to enterprise to sorrow

In joy we blissfully burn, but when meloncholy we glow
Everything has a special shine that doesn't exist on your Earth
There is no death, only birth

Sometimes we leap off to swim in the black of the sky

There is no depression; only calm, bittersweet tears do we cry

There is no speech, only song

On this star is where I belong.

This makes me want to be on that star, it sounded so beautiful. I loved that first line, it opened it nicely for the rest.

About
What I love about poetry is that it's completely personal. Not only to the writer, but the same poem also means something a little different to every single reader, the same way a song is different to.. more..
