Longings

Longings

A Poem by linear
"

love poetry

"

Long ago when life was easy

when dreams seemed reachable

and I of course was young

My whole life seemed to be on hold

waiting for you

the very beginning of life

As a shadow slowly forms a fixed shape

you appeared

silent, beautiful

Quiet yet bold and fearless

with your smile you captured my heart

the sound that came from your lips was angelic

Making my heart leap

I was in love

agony so divine

I never knew

and all because of you.

it's so lovely and reminds me of my own poem - Childhood dreams

A beautiful poem. I like the way you led the reader into love and happiness. A nice flow of thoughts with a very good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I picture Peter O'Toole saying this in front of a huge fire place, sipping brandy and holding the hand of his aged and beautiful bride.
