Birds Song

Birds Song

A Poem by minisla

Woke up this morning I opened my door
Walked for a while to greet a new day
Seemed so quiet usually is at this time
Noticing mornings lately getting brighter

I came upon a woodland with an abundance of trees
The wind whistled through them it sounded eerie
When out of nowhere came this heart rendering sound
It was so crisp and so clear all other sound drowned

Sound echoed off trees with no hope of tracing
I looked on the ground and among every treetop
But nowhere could i find where it hailed from
As I walked on I felt my heart slowly racing

I feel I'm closer now than ever before
the beautiful sound is much crisper than before
I stop and take heed feel like one wrong step is all
It will take for this enchanting song to cease

In front of me stands the tallest of trees
Its top reaches up as far as my eyes can see
It's there that I see the owner of this magical chorus
It's the Bird with the most imaginative of versus

I sit there for hours but in reality bare minutes
Gazing in awe wondering who created all of this
To be enjoyed by all but few stop to listen
It's too often exploited and not easily comprehended

It sings this melody a regular occurrence
I assume to let all know why all was created
I speak of the Blackbird not the most extravagant in colour
Only distinguished by the dull or bright yellow

It leaves when song ends and without me knowing
Will it be the last song I'll hear with such feeling
I continue my journey now filled with more meaning
To the Blackbird I thank you for making my morning

very nice free style. some of the words felt a bit pushed together, some punctuation could easily fix that though. Every now and then the lines end in rhymes but they are completely natural in this poem.

"Only distinguished by the dull or bright yellow" - is it one or the other? I would imagine yellow to be bright.

I love, again, how you paint the picture for us with your words. The woods your walking in, the breeze, the noise, the sighting of this bird and its singing. Enjoyed the read.
