Thorns ~ Bhuyanshi Talukdar

Thorns ~ Bhuyanshi Talukdar

A Poem by Bhuyanshi Talukdar

A rose so fair and bright,
Now withered, lost its light,
Thorns sharp and prickly,
Remind us of love so tricky.

The winds of change howl,
Tearing us apart like a prowl,
Yet memories remain like roots,
Of love that once bore fruits.

Like two trees we grow,
Reaching for skies aglow,
If fate should bring us back,
We'll soar on love's track.

The three stages of and rose and a human woman: the budding gradually turning into its fullness; the guilt and beckoning of both full flower and woman - leading only too quickly to the absence of anything worth keeping, the blood-letting, via thorns.. or arguments. Fade, the end. Discard. Fine wording, fine meter, a tale within a tale> Or is it a myth?. Will return, if i may, for more.

The rose is often used as a metaphor for love because it is both beautiful and has thorns that can inflict painful wounds. The second verse seems to suggest this is what has happened in this relationship. Still, verse
three gives the impression that the fire has not burned out and there is the possibility that love will bloom again.
