Eventide

Twilight weighs lighter than daylight,

dreams to be fairer than a groaning night

of minty outlooks.

Painting itself with sober colors,

         it leaves a brighter attitude

triggering blue to exhale red,

         making the energy harlequin,

                            with a slight scent of dawn. 

After-effect observes how 

it lets violet twist with orange, how

it quivers peach and yellow,

just to underline its integrity and outshine popular hours.

This has a lovely rhythm. I have a tts plugin that reads aloud to me, so I can say that if it sounds this good with a computer voice, it will surely sound amazing with a human voice.

Reminds me of a controlled experiment, one addition setting off another and another and.. colour this or that taking over from another reaction of say - yellow and blue flowing into green, How lovely this kind of eventide. More than likely begun by a defined dawn. But, time come.. almost suddenly, a careful slip and slide down between two hills, THEN! a sudden pouring of liquid colour. You've created such a subtle yet exotic sight in words, Think i'll sit and read this all day!

Firstly, I love dusk.. but admit that reading your words is, was, quite special, such graphic touches .. such glorious phrasing, I like to read slowly, close eyes,inagine for myself. Wull read more, anther time.

Your image which inspired this poem is sizzling. I loved the colours, shapes and movement. It looked as though the earth was on fire, red hot flames and billowing clouds of dark smoke. Your interpretation in words, so poetically executed did it more than justice. Great work.

I can see how your poem was inspired by the art, in terms of colors. I love the opening becuz your concept seems the opposite of what many people think -- that day is better than night. After reading twice & not sure I was grasping your message fully, I am thinking this might be a unique & unexpected way to say that darkness makes a better backdrop becuz we have to know the depths in order to contrast them to the highs of life (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

It's a a great piece of writing that implores us to stop to appreciate the beauty. I look at life like a light switch. It can be turned off anytime so enjoy the colors, smells and everything else that lifts us up because our number can be called at any moment. Nice job my friend!

I tjink uou nailed it here from first line onwards, which is the reason we can forget all our woes at such a sight and stop, pause and reflect in a way that can re energize us, calming our non stop mind from fighter pilot stress levels, down to a slight panic and lower... If only we took the time to notice natures dance more.

Ahh I really miss going out and observing the dance of nature. my home is all crowded with skyscrapers who look frustrated themselves.

irony is I had a hard time transforming this theme into words because there were a lot of things going on and it became pretty harder.
