![]() The Lonely PianoA Poem by MandaBear![]() Inspired by a picture for a contest. I hope you enjoy. (picture 3)![]() Fire and bombs flying through the air Destruction everywhere you turn People screaming and running Panic and worry on all the faces Silence around the small town Buildings burned and broken Soldiers looking for the dead and wounded Only to find a lonely piano A piano of cherry wood finish Battered and scratched up The only survivor of human destruction Still able to play a song In all the silence a sound rings through The soldier plays a tune Feeling the hurt with every stroke A hopeful song for hard times The notes are a whisper in the wind Hoping to catch an ear Hoping to bring some kind of happiness To anyone who can hear it If fire and bombs fall And a soldier plays a hopeful song On the lonely piano Is there anyone who can hear it?
