Cannot Breath

About Anxiety or at the very least my interpretation of it. I hope you like it

Gasp....             

   Gasp...        

         Gasp...    

Cannot breath;the breath won’t come 

Struggling to get air in or even out 

It’s like suffocating in my own skin 

It feels like a panic in complete darkness 

Inescapable feeling always trapped in your body

Screaming to get out but there is no sound 

Always there no matter what

Dragging you down desperately holding you waiting for you to break 

Gasp....             

   Gasp...        

         Gasp...   

The cuts are so deep and the pain real 

Soon the pain is all you know 

It’s so painful, why let it continue? 

Unless…it’s all you’ve become

I am seeing a pattern here and yes it is dark, but of course I like it. Very descriptive write of anxiety and it can be worse than you wrote. I was out with a friend recently and we were with his family and the questions were not good and he started shaking and gasping for air. I then told him we needed to go outside and take a break.

Strong social anxiety leads many to addictive substances to control it and then another problem arises.

Excellent work and this is an issue that more people need to learn of and understand. Thank you.
