PLEASE don't take this too seriously or be offended, ladies......I'm just frustrated with the posers that do it for fashion.....those of you who aren't posers, know what I am talking about......
While I like the flow of your poem and the way your words are put together, I must admit that, as a goth, I am a bit offended as I am not one of the ones that goes around in all black with tons of make up on reading books that do not interest me and go to clubs to make people think I am part of the rebel in crowd. Not all goths are the same as, in olden times, goth was a state of mind and not a fashion statement. Just being honest though, good write.
Lmao, um, well, i also almost took offence, but then i realize, i like what i like, i dont label myself anything, so thus, i am not a poser.... lmao, that was entertaining...nice...
RIGHT ON! Back in the Eighties, I was one of the "original" goths. Back then, we had a music and lifestyle that epitomized everything that the movement was about. It wasn't all about who could wear the blackest clothing, or who could cry the quickest over some half-talented author. Much like the punk movement, it was about the angst that we all felt inside. Now, it seems that the goths have gone more toward a fashion trend. They all look alike, they all sound alike (even the music), and they have come far away from the real meaning of the movement.
Thanks for writing this. It's a great poem that says a tremendous amount in a few words.
Hell yeah, I almost took offense (that would teach me to read the notes first) He He
Yes James, this seems to be a regular hype these days, but sadly it goes much further than just with the goths. The world is filled with posers, people who will sell their souls for a little attention, which I personally think is very tragic...
I am a 38-year old amateur and have only recently started writing some stuff. I began putting down these words around November, 2007, and discovered that I enjoyed doing this, and now I am seeing w.. more..
