Another older poem written when I was in Maui. Seems rather apropos for what is going on now.. Freestyle

HOPE....

Precious moments so clear,

a time of hope ...

a time of fear.

There is a time in our lives

when we must give up all lies.

Move on to the truth and enjoy

the time we have left, and 

release the fear

with hope.

Beautiful poem, so true that fear is what stops us living and believing most often, we carry our enemy within us, complicating our lives when we should live free of fear, yet full of hope… good reading and reminder, thank you.

I am so glad you liked my poem. Although written many years ago on a scrape of hotel paper while in Maui I decided to submit it as I felt it was apropo for what is going in now.

Your lines are uplifting to read Lisa and enjoyed. I also like your choice of posted artwork. Hope is a word all of us cling too. The last two weeks politics in our country has been brought to a new low, with lie after lie being told by government. Our own Prime Minister is up to his neck in it. If you can't trust the people leading the country to tell the truth, what hope have we got. Good to see another post from you and look forward to more. Are you feeling better yet,?

You know I do admire that you have gone back years, to your first poems, have resurrected them and now work on them to refine them further.

You never know what the future holds. Maybe that is a possibility :)

Good morning from Spain..
I also have my short stories..all of them..even the one I wrote when I was 10 years old..

Hope is a good title for this.

Only when we let go of the socially manufactured version of ourselves can we really see what is/was really there. There is freedom in that.

I used to be in the military, and only the "no bullshit" style of soldiering really worked when it got hard. Lies only made things harder than they had to be in the best case or got people killed in the worst case.

This also reminds me of a line from a book called fight club by a fellow named chuck palahniuk, "it is only when we lose everything that we are free to do anything". Maybe a little over the top but I think it still relates to this poem as I read it.

Although I am really busy working on my new Sonnet I have been looking through the poems I wrote many years ago..some were unfinished... like this one. I added the last two lines yesterday..Lisa
