Contrast

Poetry contest 10 words challenge. This one contrasts some of the different relationships in my life.

He felt himself preeminent,

moulded me like putty

an infatuation saturated with

entitlement;

 

you radiate calm,

let me build myself

behind patient arms,

your voice a caress

of soothing balm.

 

Consequently, I am here.

 

Across the bedspread,

my penitence laid bare for you.

Author's Note

For Albert's Poetry Contest, Jupiter's Ten, this one was a challenge to write a poem of less than 15 lines including all ten of the following: entitlement, saturate, infatuation, putty, preeminent, bedspread, penitence, caress, patient, consequently.

love that second stanza- thought the words weren't quite you- having read quite a few of your poems and this is not an easy word bank. Well done for writing something offbeat and original with them. :)

I think it is lovely. I am a little confused. As I understand your description of the contest, you can only use 15 words total and you were given 10 of them? I am probably not understanding because your poem has more than 15 words.
